    About the game

You play a hero held prisoner by a wizard who wants your powers. Then you lead a party through the Forgotten Realms. Fights run in real time and you pause to give orders. Between fights you talk to companions, take on quests and explore. The package also holds the Throne of Bhaal expansion and an arena mode.

Up to six people play online, and each one controls one or more characters in the same party. The host hands out the characters and decides who may spend gold, start a conversation, travel or pause. Gold and experience are shared, and everyone has to gather before the party can leave an area. Friends can ask to join while you play. Crossplay works between PC, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.

The rules are dense and fights stop for orders, so it suits a group that likes to plan and talk. The Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions have no multiplayer.
