About the game
You build a hero and lead them through the Forgotten Realms. Most of the time you fight your way through dungeons, cross wild country and talk to people in towns. The game comes with the original campaign, two expansions and three premium modules, and it runs community modules too.
Friends join over the internet and each plays their own character. Online co-op works in the main campaigns, both expansions and the campaign modules, though some modules were made for one player. On Windows, one of you can run the game as the dungeon master and control the monsters and characters the group meets. You can also join community servers called persistent worlds. PC servers take up to 255 players.
It suits a group that likes role-playing, a bit like a tabletop night. The console versions have no dungeon master client and no mods, and PlayStation 4 players can only play online with other PlayStation 4 players.
