    About the game

You play Chris Redfield, an agent chasing a bioterror plot in Africa, with operative Sheva Alomar at your side. The game is six linear chapters of shooting infected crowds, fighting bosses and collecting treasure to sell for weapon upgrades. You cannot move while you aim, so each shot is a decision.

Co-op is made for two players, online or on one split screen. Each of you has a small inventory, so you pass ammo and herbs back and forth, cover each other while one of you stands still to shoot and help each other over ledges. Play alone and the computer plays your partner, but she tends to waste ammo, so a real friend is better.

It plays more like an action shooter than a horror game, and the story is campy and over the top. A chapter takes about half an hour to an hour, and progress is saved at the end of each one.

      • Kind of game: Eurogamer review from 2009-03-09 says the game truly comes into its own with a friend and that it works both locally and online.
      • Sessions: Describes six extremely linear chapters, about 10 to 12 hours on Normal.
      • Laughter and chaos: Calls the game a string of set pieces held together by camp humor. That is funny writing, not chaos from play.

      • Exploring: Mentions treasures and hidden emblems spread through six chapters.
      • Unlocks and progress: Describes upgradable weapons, treasure sold for cash and unlockable figures.
      • Planning ahead: Says each character has a limited number of inventory slots and using them well is key.
      • Working in sync: Says the partner sometimes has to split from you to reach high places, and that melee combos work best as a team.

      • Tension and danger: Says tense is the right word for crowds of attackers coming at the two characters.
      • Rivalry in the group: Says the package includes a versus mode where players compete instead of helping each other.
      • Time to hang out: Reviews describe the co-op as tasks such as handing out ammo and covering each other. None describe relaxed chat time.
