About the game
You are one of four mercenaries hired to deal with a disaster at an experiment on the Earth's core. It has left the land covered in sludge and full of the undead. Each mission drops you on a big, half-open map. You find a vehicle, drive between objectives, grab supplies and shoot your way through huge hordes.
Up to four of you play online, with crossplay between PC and consoles. Classes split the work. The medic heals the squad, the defender soaks up hits behind a barrier, the strike class blasts crowds and the operator sends out a drone. Spare parts buy turrets and traps for when you must hold your ground.
The tone is loud and jokey, like an 80s action movie, and it is more about laughs than scares. Bots fill empty seats, but it plays best with real friends. Missions repeat on higher difficulties, so it suits groups that want one more run.
