    About the game

    You and up to three friends explore the Backrooms, a maze of identical yellow rooms, offices, car parks, sewers and caves. Each level has its own puzzles and mechanics. To reach the next one, you search the rooms for items and solve the puzzles that block the way.

    Entities patrol every level, and each one attacks in its own way, so you learn what it does and how to avoid it. Stamina and inventory space are limited. Voice chat works by distance, so you only hear players near you, and some entities can hear you too. Radios let you talk across the level.

    The game is in early access and still changing. An update in June 2026 reworked and simplified several levels. It suits a group that likes talking through a puzzle while something scary is nearby.
