About the game
You command soldiers, tanks and guns in large battles on the Eastern Front of the Second World War. From a top-down map you give orders, or you take direct control of one soldier or vehicle and fight in first or third person. The maps are copies of real battlegrounds.
Co-op puts you on the same side against the computer, in the single-player missions, in skirmishes and in the Conquest campaign. In Conquest you build your own army, research new units and push forward along different paths. The host can hand units to friends, so each of you steers part of the force.
There is a lot to learn, from armor and ammunition to switching views, and the studio itself says it takes a while to master. Battles can run long. The game also has solo and PvP modes. It suits a group that likes planning and can put up with a rough start.
