About the game
You defend a patch of ground against zombies that arrive every night in bigger and tougher waves. By day you spend money on weapons, barricades and auto turrets. At night you shoot and try to keep the line from breaking. In the end the horde wins, so the aim is to last longer than your last run and climb the leaderboards.
You can play online with up to three friends, or locally on one PC. In public online games only the host can buy items and build, so it works best when you invite people you know. There is also a deathmatch mode for when the group wants to turn on each other.
The map never changes and the graphics are basic, so the fun comes from the group deciding where the next wall goes and shouting when one gives way. It costs nothing, so it is easy to try with friends.

- Online co-op: The About text says the game has an online co-op mode. The short description says to play in online or local co-op.
- Most players online: The About text says you can blast zombies with up to three friends, which makes four players with you. No page writes 4 players for the original in so many words. The paid HD remake is a separate product and is not used.
- Local co-op: The short description says to play in online or local co-op, and the features list Shared/Split Screen. The local player cap and screen type are not stated for this edition, so both are left out. The HD remake says 4 local, which is not copied.
- Free base co-op: The page shows Play Game with the word Free where a price would be, and lists no DLC. The paid HD remake is a separate product.
- Confirmed free setups: The whole original game is free, so its online and local co-op need no purchase. No page lists supported group sizes, so none are given.
- Genres: The About text calls it a top-down arcade zombie shooter with strategy elements.
- Kind of game: A team holds a base against zombie waves. User tags include Zombies, Shooter, Tower Defense and Co-op. It plays more like a squad shooter than a strategy game, as the maker calls it an arcade shooter first.
- About: The text describes hordes of undead attacking every night, and user tags include Zombies.
- Tension and danger: The text says the waves get stronger and your end is inevitable.
- Getting better: The text says it is for gamers who like to put their skills to the test and reach the top of the leaderboards. Steam Leaderboards are listed.
- Fighting: The text calls it a zombie shooter with a variety of weapons.
- Building and creating: The text says you set up barricades and auto turrets, and the short description says to build your base by day.
- Planning ahead: The text says it is an arcade shooter with strategy elements, for players who want to find an optimal strategy. Rated 2 and not 3 because it is a shooter first.
- Rivalry in the group: The text mentions a player vs player deathmatch mode. It is a side mode.
- Fear: User tags include Horror and Gore, and the short description says darkness is coming. The page presents an arcade shooter and not a scare game, so fear stays at 1.
