About the game
You play a small group of heroes who defend the village of Arden. Each mission is a turn-based fight on a map of hexes. On your turn you play skill cards that move you, attack and use gear, and the group agrees who goes first. Between missions you go back to town to shop and upgrade. Your choices change which missions come next.
Together in one room, everyone watches one TV and plays on a phone or tablet. You scan a code to join, and the free app shows your cards and the rules. Played this way, only the host needs to own the game. On PC you can also play online with mouse and keyboard, and then each player needs a copy.
It feels like a tabletop evening with friends. You talk through every turn, and someone will push another hero out of position for a laugh. It suits board game fans and families with mixed skill.
