About the game
You play Karl Fairburne, a sniper helping the Italian Resistance in Italy in 1943. Each mission is a big open map with several goals you can tackle in any order. You tag guards with binoculars, find a good perch and line up long shots that bend with wind and gravity. You can also sneak, lay traps or shoot your way out.
You can play the whole campaign online with one partner. One of you covers and spots while the other moves ahead, or you split up to take different objectives. A friend can join or leave a mission while it runs. Survival and Overwatch are separate co-op modes, and dedicated co-op modes take up to four players.
It is a patient game, with plenty of scouting and waiting for a loud noise to cover your shot. There is no split screen. It suits a pair who like planning an approach together.

Backs Kind of game, Laughter and chaos, Tension and danger, Calm and coziness, Story, Working in sync, Time to hang out, Getting better, Unlocks and progress.
- Kind of game: Review of 2017-02-16 says one partner covers and spots while the other moves ahead, and both shoot the same guard.
- Laughter and chaos: Pokes fun at guards who go back to strolling after you shoot their friends. Funny moments only, play stays controlled.
- Tension and danger: Says looking after a friend adds tension to repetitive levels.
- Calm and coziness: Describes hiding until guards give up and waiting for loud noises to cover a shot, with quiet stretches between fights.
- Story: Calls the characters bland and the cutscenes skippable, with the missions coming first.
- Working in sync: The reviewer and a stranger understood each other without voice chat, covering and spotting for each other.
- Time to hang out: The pair read each other's moves without talking. Play is about the task in front of you.
- Getting better: Switching off the aim guide asks for close knowledge of bullet speed and drop.
- Unlocks and progress: Weapon progression is called underwhelming, but upgrades are earned by use and some guns need DLC.
