About the game
You fish to keep a hungry beast in the lake fed. Bait comes from worms, frogs and other small animals, and what you catch can go to the beast, the grill, the traders or the gambling pit. Miss the daily offering and the lake takes you. Other creatures hunt you too, so you learn which ones to avoid.
Up to eight players can share one lobby online, and you can also play alone. Trinkets that one player buys or upgrades are shared with the whole lobby, and a friend who dies can be brought back if someone sacrifices a heart. Friends can join a session that has already started.
The scares come with a lot of mess. Beer, TNT and a musket that can hit your friends are all in the game, and voice chat only reaches players near you. It suits a group that likes to joke around more than a serious horror fan.
