About the game
You make an adventurer in Eorzea, follow story quests and learn jobs that change how you fight. Character levels and equipment carry over between visits. Away from battles, you can gather materials, craft items, fish or spend time with other players. Much of the main story is read and played individually, so friends need to agree when to meet for shared activities.
Dungeons and trials bring players together as tanks, healers and damage dealers. You protect the group, restore health and respond to boss attacks while working toward the same clear. Ordinary parties have four or eight players, with larger cooperative encounters available later. The full game requires a purchase and subscription. A separate free trial has content and social restrictions.
