About the game
You play Ember and Rime, two people who fall in love while a barrier keeps them apart. Each brings a different climate into the same landscape. Ember warms objects and Rime freezes them. You move around one another to shift the boundary, change water into ice and work out how to reach scattered scarves. Collecting enough scarves opens paths to other areas.
You can control one character each in local co-op or play together online. The puzzles ask you to place both characters carefully and combine their powers. Different worlds add new ways to use the barrier, including turning it into a surface you can cross. A narrator follows the pair through their story. The pace leaves time to think, though some puzzles can take several attempts to understand.
